Chairman of the Kwara State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Hon. Baba Mohammed Salihu has lauded the leadership of the State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) for its efforts at ensuring quality education in the state.
The Committee Chairman gave the commendation after inspecting some projects at the commission’s headquarters in Ilorin.
He hailed the commission’s leadership for promoting the government’s policies on education.
He said, “The leadership of this commission has ensured a paradigm shift in the operation of the commission since its assumption of office. It has shown the entire staff of the commission that it is not business as usual.”
While appreciating the entire staff for the support and cooperation accorded the management, he encouraged them to rededicate themselves to their statutory duties and also come up with ideas on how to move the commission forward.
Hon Salihu, who spoke about education policies and programmes of the present government in the state, stressed that their efforts at complementing government would not go unrewarded.
Earlier, the Executive Chairman of Kwara State Teaching Service Commission, Mallam Bello Tauheed Abubakar lauded the present administration under the leadership of Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRazaq for the passion shown in revamping the education system in the state.
He told the lawmakers about the efforts of the present government at ensuring conducive working conditions for workers to get the best out of them all.
He noted with satisfaction the recent implementation of promotion arrears of teachers and prompt payments of their salaries which he said would go a long way in boosting their morale.
