Late Oyo Gov’s son, Olamiju Akala wins Rep seat in Ogbomoso
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared the son of the late Governor Adebayo Akala of Oyo State, Olamijuwonlo Akala of All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner of the Ogbomoso North/South and Orire federal constituency election.
The results of the election were announced by the INEC returning officer, Professor Akeem Olanrewaju Salami in Ogbomoso on Sunday.
Olamijuwonlo was declared winner after polling a total number of 33,268 votes to defeat his closest rivals from PDP, Olufemi Onireti who garnered 27,126 and SDP’s Captain Adejumo Ajao who scored 10,369 votes.
