Lampard ‘unshaken’ as Everton Manager despite poor form
Everton manager Frank Lampard is unwilling to talk about his future after suffering another defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup.
The Toffees lost 3-1 at Old Trafford which means their trophy drought is set to carry on to 28 years.
Asked by ITV if he thinks he will still be in charge in the match against Southampton Lampard said: “I don’t want to go on about that. I want to talk about the players tonight and how well they played.
“While I’m not concerned, my focus is on this team and the game against Southampton.
“When the players perform with the spirit of an Everton player and the performance of one, the fans will react tonight. Even in defeat, that says a lot.
“I don’t want to harp on about the fans. I don’t want to talk about the fans in a football sense. Our game is next week is at Goodison. We have to try and make the fans feel like how they did tonight, then try and win the game.
“Our only focus is Southampton. This league can change pretty quickly and when you’re in a run of difficult times, you have to work to get out of it and the picture can change.”
Everton, 18th in the Premier League, now take on bottom club Southampton and Lampard says his focus is on the game and how to keep improving the team
