Lagos govt shuts down Wonderland Lagos after guest was electrocuted

The Lagos State Government has closed down and suspended the activities of the Kiddies section of Wonderland Lagos – an event center following an electrocution of a yet-to-be-identified guest.

The incident happened on Monday afternoon, December, 26, 2022.

The fun seekers immediately left the event venue immediately the incident occurred.

The Director General of the Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr Lanre Mojola in collaboration with the Lagos State Task Force team have paid an inspection visit to the affected scene.

The Director has revealed that the intervention was necessary to prevent others from falling victims of the electrocution.

Mr. Lanre Mojola has blamed the owner of the event venue – Mr Ezekiel Adamu for refusing to effect safety measures which were laid down by the Commission.

He explained that it was necessary to shut down the event center until all infractions are corrected.

The Director General also added that no person or organization is above the law of the state.

He has however warned owners of facilities in the state to comply with the State Safety rules and regulations and advised residents to socialise in responsible manners.
