KWSG pledges continued support for religious bodies

The Kwara State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting religious bodies, emphasizing its dedication to fostering peace, unity, and tranquility in the state by creating a conducive environment for religious programs.

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hon. Opeyemi Oluwakemi Afolashade, made this statement yesterday while welcoming the executive members of the NAWAIR-UD-DEEN Society of Nigeria (Women Wing) to her office.

Hon. Afolashade assured the society of the State Government’s support for their upcoming program, scheduled for August 3, 2024, at the Banquet Hall in Ilorin. She pledged to inform Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq about the event and wished the society success in their forthcoming endeavors.

In her speech, the Zonal Chairperson of the Society, Hajia Mariam Toyin Dare, who also serves as Amirah, highlighted the society’s dedication to empowering orphans and widows. She emphasized the society’s non-biased approach, stating, “We visit hospitals to check on the sick and extend hands of fellowship to the poor and less privileged.”

Hajia Dare expressed her hope that the Governor would attend the event as the father of the day and that the Commissioner would serve as the guest of honor. She outlined the society’s programs and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to supporting the less privileged.

The State Government’s continued support for such initiatives underscores its dedication to building a harmonious and united community in Kwara State.
