Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq inaugurated the 10th Kwara Trade Fair in Ilorin, reaffirming a commitment to ongoing infrastructure development and the construction of new facilities to enhance the movement of people, goods, and services.
The Governor emphasized the administration’s dedication to streamlining business processes, fostering a favorable business environment, and positioning Kwara as a premier investment destination in Nigeria.
In his address at the opening ceremony organized annually by the Kwara State Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KWACCIMA), Abdulrazaq highlighted the administration’s continuous support for businesses, particularly small-scale enterprises vital to the economy.
He commended KWACCIMA, the organized private sector, and other stakeholders for their collaborative efforts that resulted in the success of the trade fair.
The Governor expressed admiration for the conducive business environment that Kwara has become, showcasing ingenuity, innovation, and collaboration.
He pledged the government’s commitment to working with all stakeholders, including security agencies, to ensure a safe and healthy environment for businesses to thrive.
AbdulRazaq underscored the significance of Nano, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (NMSMEs) as the lifeblood of a thriving economy, citing various interventions such as the Kwapreneur initiative, Owo Isowo, conditional cash transfer, and others.
He highlighted substantial investments in projects and programs aimed at upskilling young people and creating platforms for sustainable job creation.
As the Governor toured vibrant pavilions, dignitaries, including lawmakers, cabinet members, industry leaders, and officials from KWACCIMA, graced the event.
BIT Commissioner Yusuf emphasized the multifaceted role of the Trade Fair, encouraging businesses to envision Kwara as a hub for innovation and economic prosperity.
NACCIMA President Fagbemi pledged the organization’s commitment to impactful economic initiatives in Kwara, expressing readiness to collaborate with the state government on developmental programs.
KWACCIMA President Adeyemí, in her remarks, highlighted the fair’s purpose in providing a platform for the business community to showcase products, attract customers, and investors.
The choice of the theme, “Renewed Hope of Transforming Commerce,” reflected global economic realities, emphasizing the need for collective efforts to navigate challenging times.
