Kwara United unveils Ashifat Sulaiman as new Technical Adviser

Kwara United Football Club has unveiled Coach Ashifat Sulaiman, popularly known as Brazil, as its new Technical Adviser, replacing Coach Tunde Sanni, who was asked to step aside two weeks ago.

The unveiling and contract-signing ceremony took place on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the club’s secretariat in Ilorin. The contract, which runs until the end of the current season, includes an option for extension based on performance.

Supervising the ceremony on behalf of the club’s chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, the General Manager, Bashir Badawiy, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Sports Commission, and other stakeholders for their continuous support of the team.

According to him, the appointment of Coach Ashifat marks the beginning of a new phase for Kwara United aimed at strengthening the club’s performance and professionalism.

“We want to begin a new journey with a trusted coach, Ashifat Sulaiman, because we want the team to continue to grow and succeed. The contract will run until the end of the season, with the option of extension based primarily on performance,” Badawiy stated.

Coach Ashifat, a former player and captain of Kwara United, is returning for his second stint as head coach, having previously served as an assistant coach on several occasions.

Speaking after signing the contract, the new Technical Adviser described leading Kwara United to success as a surmountable task, emphasizing teamwork and support from all stakeholders.

“Our target is to win the league and also defend the President Federation Cup title we won last season. We have the players to achieve that. My coaching philosophy is built on possession football and creativity. We believe in our supporters and fans to help us reach our goals,” he said.

Kwara United will face Rangers International in their next Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture in Enugu.
