Kwara United earns 50 million naira prize money for winning President Federation Cup
Kwara United will earn a sum of 50 million naira for winning the President Federation Cup.
This was revealed the final match report released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
The Harmony Boys defeated Abakaliki FC 4-3 on penalties on Saturday to win their first ever major trophy following a goalless draw in the regulation time of the match played at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena Onikan Stadium on Saturday in Lagos
Kwara United’s achievement have not only earned them a prize money but they have also picked the tickets for the CAF Confederation Cup, making their third appearance on the continent in the club’s history.
Founded in 1997, it’s Kwara United first major Silverware, breaking a 49-year record when a Kwara-based team Alyufusalam Rocks last appeared in the final which they lost 2-0 to Rangers.
Kwara United will now shift attention to their CAF Confederation Cup campaign and also the new NPFL season which has been scheduled to commence in August 22,2025.
Meanwhile, Rivers Angels who won the female version of the President Federation Cup after defeating Nasarawa Amazons in the final by 4-2 after 2-2 in the regulation time will earn 25 million naira for clinching the trophy.
