KWARA STATE GOVERNMENT BEGINS DISBURSEMENT OF BUSRARY TOMMOROW​.

  The Kwara state government is set to commence the payment of this year’s bursary tommorow, 12th of June, 2017. According to one of the students of the Kwara state college of Education interviewed by THE INFORMANT correspondent, he express delight and optimism over this development after appreciating the government, he tasked them to ensure the swift release of the remain fund so that the money would be evenly distributed between the schools within and outside the state, stating that the last time the busrary was paid was in 2011.
 It would be recalled that ever since 2011, the undergraduate students under the aegis of National Association of Kwara state student had continue to stage peaceful demonstration to the Kwara state government house over the non-payment of there busaries, which normally ought to be paid annually. After several furtile attempt, the Kwara state government had on last month approved the release of the fund.
  According to a top source within the NAKSS Executive, who pleaded anonymity because of the sensitivity of his office, he made it known to THE INFORMANT correspondent, that the payment should have started at KWARA STATE UNIVERSITY, MALETE, which was the government choice, but because KWASU is on break, they have to shift it to another institution within the state capital. He further disclosed that the delay in the payment of bursary was due to the unavailability of the governor. He said, “the governor should be the person to unveil the payment, but currently, he is unavailable and that is what continue to delay the process. We suppose to start from KWASU, which is the government choice but because they are on break, we have to shift it to another institution within the state capital which is the Kwara state college of education.” When asked about those who are not schooling within Kwara state, he express optimism that the Kwara state government under the leadership of governor Abdulfatah Ahmad would release the remaining fund so that those schools outside Kwara would also enjoy same privilege.
  Busrary is a #5000 annual stipend paid to undergraduate students of Kwara state so as to serve as financial assistance during the course of there stay in school.
