Kwara Polytechnic: No affiliation with 2 female suspects involved in death of hotel owner
The management of Kwara State Polytechnic wishes to address a recent and concerning incident that has made its way into the media.
According to Halimat Garba –the Public Relation Officer of the Polytechnic – the institution would like to clarify its position in response to an article published by the Daily Trust Newspaper titled, “How we killed Club Owner in Hotel Room – Female Student,” and a viral video circulating on social media with the caption, “Confession of Kwarapoly Students who killed man during Escapade.”
Haminat said that the polytechnic’s management unequivocally disassociates itself from the individuals implicated in this incident.
The management added that contrary to the reports, the suspects who were paraded in Abuja by the Force PRO, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, are not students of Kwara State Polytechnic.
The Polytechnic added that it takes immense pride in its students who consistently represent the institution, the state, and the nation in a positive light.
The management furthered that the institution is dedicated to nurturing responsible, respectful, and law-abiding citizens, and any implication of its students in such activities is both baseless and a mere fabrication.
“The Polytechnic Management wishes to state categorically that its students are good ambassadors of the Polytechnic, the state and Nigeria at large and will never indulge in such acts.
“Thus, the suspects claim is untrue, baseless and figment of their imagination with the intention of dragging the name of the ever peaceful institution to the mud.”
In light of this, the Polytechnic urges all stakeholders and members of the press to exercise caution when sharing information related to the institution, ensuring that the facts are verified before dissemination.
