Kwara Police condemn attacks on warehouse, malls
The Kwara State Police Command has condemned the recent attacks by hoodlums on palliative warehouse, shops, and malls in Ilorin Metropolis.
In a statement signed by the Commissioner of Police Kayode Egbetokun, he said the attack has nothing to do with #EndSars protesters that it was mastermind by hoodlums under the guise of protest.
The Informant 247 had earlier reported how major places in the city were in disarray after hundreds of residents broke into the palliative warehouse and cart away items in some malls and shops in Ilorin.
Egbetokun decried the attack on warehouses, Malls, and shops and an attempt to burn down people’s properties which was later repelled by security agents.
He emphasized the commitment of police in protection of lives and properties and the protection of human rights of residents and visitors alike in Kwara state.
He however appealed to the residents to abide by the curfew and guardians to keep their wards off the streets
“Those who choose to remain with the criminals on the streets clearly made a choice of confrontation with the law enforcement agents and are at risk of the consequences of such an action. I also appeal to all law-abiding residents of the state to stay at home for the period of the curfew.” He concluded.
