Kwara pilgrims to return from Hajj tomorrow — Board

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has announced that the pilgrims from the state who participated in this year’s Hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia will start returning home on Sunday, the 7th of June, 2026.

The Executive Secretary of the Board, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, disclosed this while addressing preparations for the pilgrims’ return. He stated that the first batch of 560 pilgrims is expected to arrive aboard a MaxAir flight at the Babatunde Idiagbon International Airport, Ilorin.

Abdulkadir further outlined the return schedule for subsequent batches.

According to him, “The second batch will arrive on Tuesday, 9th of June, while the third batch is scheduled for Friday, 12th of June, The final batch of pilgrims is expected to return on Sunday, June 14, 2026”.

He also confirmed that all pilgrims from Kwara State are in good health and high spirits, expressing gratitude for a successful Hajj exercise.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board, Professor Mashood Mahmud-Jimba, commended Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his continued support and commitment, which he said contributed significantly to the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.

Mahmud-Jimba assured families and well-wishers that adequate arrangements have been made to ensure a seamless and hitch-free reception for the returning pilgrims at the airport.
