Kwara: PDP youth advocate, Comr. Shesan Philip leaves party, states reason

A solid and well-known grassroots youth supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Comrade Shesan Philip Abegunde from the Oke-Ero LGA in Kwara State, has resigned from the party.

In a message, obtained by The Informant247, Comrade Shesan stated that he had to quit in order to confront his family and business obligations.

He expressed his gratitude to the PDP’s executives at all levels and thanked former Senate President Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki for the opportunity to serve the party.

The statement reads; “I will be ungrateful if I don’t appreciate my wonderful mentor and benefactor the 2023 House of Representatives candidate of the PDP for Irepodun, Isin, Ekiti & Oke Ero federal constituency, Engr Dare Bankole for his love and trust reposed in me all through the electioneering process in 2019 and the just concluded 2023 elections.

“This resignation is a personal decision for me, my family, and my business,” Comrade Shesan said.

Philip, an outspoken leader among the party’s youth, has featured in many political programs, he also served as a member of the PDP State Media and Strategy Committee as well as the Kwara PDP State Youth Council in the run-up to the just concluded 2023 general elections.

The youth advocate, a native of the Oke-Ero Local Government Area of Kwara State and a resident of the community of Ekan Meje, didn’t say in his message whether he was joining another political party.
