Kwara PDP guber aspirant, Kale Kawu delivers solar borehole to mandala correctional centre
A governorship aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, Suleiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, has fulfilled his earlier promise to provide a motorised borehole for the Mandala Correctional Centre in Ilorin.
Just Event Online TV earlier reported that Kawu had, on February 19, 2026, visited correctional facilities in Oke Kura and Mandala under the Nigerian Correctional Service, where he donated food items to inmates as part of Ramadan outreach activities.
During the visit, officials at the Mandala facility requested support for improved water supply, to which the aspirant pledged to provide a borehole.
In fulfilment of that promise, Kawu has now facilitated the installation of a solar-powered motorised borehole at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Mandala.
In an appreciation letter obtained by journalists and signed by the Officer-in-Charge of the facility, Olaniran Adeniyi, the management expressed gratitude for the intervention.
The letter noted that the borehole had been fully installed and put into use from March 16, 2026, adding that the project would significantly improve water access for inmates and staff.
The correctional authorities described the gesture as a demonstration of commitment to the welfare, reformation and rehabilitation of inmates.
During his earlier visit, Kawu had encouraged inmates to remain hopeful and use the Ramadan period for reflection and personal renewal, while also urging them to pray for peace and development in Kwara State and Nigeria.
Officials of the correctional centres commended the PDP aspirant for what they described as a timely and impactful intervention, noting that it would enhance living conditions within the facility.
