Kwara NDC governorship candidate, Ajia appoints media, stakeholder relations directors ahead 2027 campaign
The governorship campaign of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate in Kwara State, Professor Abdulmumin Yinka Ajia, has announced the appointment of key officials to strengthen its media, communications and stakeholder engagement structure ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The appointments, which took effect on July 1, are part of the campaign’s strategy to build what it described as a lean, professional and people-oriented organisation capable of effectively communicating its vision across the 16 local government areas of the state.
Under the new appointments, Shuaib Ridwan Alesinloye has been named Media Director, while Sulyman Adekunle Yusuf will serve as Director of Stakeholder Relations.
According to the campaign council, Alesinloye will oversee the day-to-day operations of the media directorate, coordinate media relations, organise press engagements and ensure the timely dissemination of information on campaign activities, policies and programmes.
Yusuf, as Director of Stakeholder Relations, will lead engagement with traditional rulers, religious bodies, professional associations, civil society organisations, youth and women groups, business leaders, community-based organisations and other critical stakeholders across Kwara State.
The campaign said the appointments reflect its commitment to fostering stronger relationships with communities while ensuring that citizens and stakeholders remain active participants in its engagement process.
Speaking on the appointments, Professor Ajia said building a successful campaign requires competence, discipline, integrity and teamwork.
“Building a successful campaign requires more than enthusiasm. It requires competence, discipline, integrity and teamwork. These appointments reflect our commitment to assembling a professional leadership team that is focused on service, accountability and meaningful engagement with the people of Kwara State,” he said.
“I have every confidence that these gentlemen will serve with dedication and distinction as we work together to move Kwara State forward together.”
The campaign council added that the appointments align with its organisational philosophy of efficiency, accountability and results, noting that it is deliberately maintaining a compact leadership structure with clearly defined responsibilities rather than creating an unnecessarily large bureaucracy.
It also disclosed that additional appointments would be announced in the coming days and weeks as the campaign expands its operations across the 16 local government areas of Kwara State ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
