Kwara MULAN swears in new exco, honours Kamaldeen Ajibade, SAN

The Kwara State Muslim Lawyers Association of Nigeria (MULAN) has sworn in new executives who will lead the association for the next two years.

The swearing-in ceremony took place at the NBA House in Ilorin on Friday during the association’s 2026 Handing-Over Ceremony and Dinner in honour of Alhaji Kamaldeen Adeyemi Ajibade SAN.

In his remarks, the newly sworn-in chairman of MULAN, Ibn Mahmud Haruna, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to serve as the new chairman of the association.

According to him, it is a privilege to serve as the new chairman, saying that he would build on the legacy of his predecessors.

The new chairman also noted that the welfare of members remains a priority, assuring that the interests of all members would be taken care of.

Earlier, the outgoing chairman, Dr Taofeeq Abolaji Abdulraheem, highlighted the achievements of his administration, thanking Allah for the successful completion of his tenure.

He disclosed that the MULAN Kwara chapter had been able to secure a plot of land for its secretariat adding that, among other achievements, the association organised lectures and Quranic competitions and hosted the 2025 MULAN conference.

The event also featured an award presentation to Alhaji Kamaldeen Ajibade SAN who serves as the national legal adviser of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and former Attorney General of Kwara state for his contributions to the association and the legal profession.

In his acceptance speech, Alhaji Kamaldeen Ajibade SAN thanked MULAN for the honour while expressing his gratitude he pledged a donation of five million naira towards the construction of the Kwara MULAN secretariat.

Other honourees included the Attorney-General of Kwara State, Ibrahim Sulyman; the Grand Kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal, Justice Abdullateef Kamaldeen; and J.A. Mumini SAN, among others.
