The organisers of the Kwara U12 Yeg league has described the maiden edition of the kiddies league as a huge success.
Speaking in a recent documentary made by the media crew, the Chief Operating Officer of the league, Ibrahim Jato thanked all the stakeholders for the success of the maiden edition of the initiative.
“We are indebted to all the stakeholders, our sponsor, partners for their immense contributions to the success of the league”
Jatto disclosed that although it was an ‘experimental season’ , he noted that the initiative has now become a reference points due to its social impact and focus on the development of the round leather game at the grassroots level.
“We have increased the value of the league to attract a lot of organization and corporate bodies to identify with us. Nevertheless, we would continue to improve on all fronts in order to further establish our creed as a model and foundation league” he said.
Kwara Football Academy emerged the champions of the league which ended recently in a well attended end of the league game and award ceremony.
It was an inspiring moment for the kids from all the 12 teams that participated in the league as they had dignitaries from all walks of live cheering them up.
Highlighting the event was the presentation of trophy to the winners and awards to all outstanding players after a round of 22 weeks of intense football games.
Meanwhile, the documentary which has now been released on the YouTube platform of the league chronicles the challenges, potentials and prospects of the league.
The second season of the league which is reputed to be one of its kind in the country is expected to kick off in January, 2023.
