Kwara gov’t urges residents to prioritize adequate diet to enhance healthy living

To address the rising concerns about malnutrition and promote healthy living among its residents, the Kwara State Government has advocated for the adoption of adequate diets to ensure proper nutrition.

The Nutrition Community Mobilization Officer, Mrs. Mariam Oyinlola Ahmed, stated this today during the maiden Nutrition programme on KwaraTV titled: “Adequate Nutrition and Healthy Living”, a programme organised by the Kwara State Ministry of Communications to enlighten residents on the importance of adequate nutrition and living a healthy lifestyle.

By promoting adequate dietary habits, the State Government aims to empower residents to make informed food choices that can lead to improved health outcomes, particularly in combating common ailments linked to poor nutrition.

During the programme, Mrs. Ahmed emphasized the importance of adequate diet, which include appropriate mix of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, and dairy products.

“Eating a variety of foods helps ensure that individuals receive essential nutrients vital for maintaining good health,” the Officer stated.

She encouraged viewers to incorporate more local produce into their meals, which not only supports local farmers but also provides access to fresh and nutritious options.
