Kwara Govt to build 10-storey headquarters for Ministry of Education

The Kwara State Government has commenced plans to build a 10-storey headquarters for the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development as part of efforts to strengthen education infrastructure and improve public service delivery.The project moved a step closer to reality following the official handover of the construction site to the contractor, Migliore Construczione and Tecniche (MC&T).Speaking during the handover ceremony, the Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr Segun Ogunsola, described the project as a major investment in the future of education administration in the state.He said the proposed headquarters would serve as a modern administrative complex equipped with facilities including a crèche, library, multi-purpose hall and office spaces designed to meet the operational needs of the ministry.According to Ogunsola, the project aligns with the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq administration’s commitment to providing functional and sustainable infrastructure that supports effective governance and educational development.He disclosed that preliminary works had already commenced on the project, underscoring the government’s determination to ensure its timely execution and completion.The commissioner urged the contractor to maintain strict supervision of the work and ensure compliance with approved specifications, quality standards and project timelines.He expressed confidence in the company’s ability to deliver a project that reflects the state’s vision for excellence in public infrastructure and institutional development.Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, Alhaja Risikat Tinuke AbdulAzeez, said the project would provide a befitting administrative headquarters for the Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development upon completion.She noted that education remains critical to the state’s development aspirations and commended stakeholders for their contributions towards the commencement of the project.In his remarks, the Project Manager of MC&T, QS David Olatunji, thanked the state government for the confidence reposed in the company and assured that the project would be delivered in line with required standards and within the stipulated timeframe.Another representative of the company, Mr Lediji Oluwaseun, also pledged diligent oversight and continuous monitoring to ensure quality workmanship, accountability and value for public funds.Senior officials of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, representatives of the contractor and other stakeholders attended the handover ceremony
