Kwara govt starts free online registration for 2026 JSS placement exam
The Kwara State Government has commenced free online registration for the 2026 Placement Examination into public junior secondary schools across the state, reaffirming its commitment to accessible and technology-driven education.
The State Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development announced that the registration exercise, popularly known as the Common Entrance Examination, will be conducted entirely through a dedicated online platform at no cost to pupils or parents.
According to the ministry, registration for pupils in private primary schools began on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, while registration for public primary schools is scheduled to commence on Friday, June 12, 2026. The exercise will close on Monday, June 22, 2026.
The ministry explained that registration will be carried out through pupils’ current schools and is strictly limited to Primary Six pupils in approved public and private primary schools across Kwara State.
As part of measures to ensure compliance and quality assurance, private primary schools have been directed to obtain clearance from the Quality Assurance Bureau of the ministry before accessing login credentials for the registration portal.
Schools are to complete the registration process through the official portal: https://placementexam.kwarastate.gov.ng
The ministry noted that the date for the placement examination would be announced later, adding that the examination will be conducted in designated public junior secondary schools across the state.
Parents, guardians, headteachers, and other stakeholders were urged to comply with the registration schedule and guidelines to guarantee a smooth, transparent, and successful exercise.
The government emphasized that it has fully funded both the registration and examination processes, stressing that no candidate or parent is expected to make any payment.
It warned that any principal, headteacher, or education official found collecting money from candidates or their parents under any guise would face sanctions in accordance with the law.
The initiative, according to the ministry, reflects the administration’s determination to expand equitable access to quality education while leveraging technology to improve service delivery across the education sector under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
