Kwara govt reviews Judicial Service Commission’s list after INFORMANT247 report
The Kwara State Government has finally reviewed the list of Kwara State Judicial Service Commission
THE INFORMANT247 had on June 13 reported that the state government appointed a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Chief Titus Olasupo Ashaolu as the chairman of the commission instead of the constitutional stipulated Chief Judge of the State.
The governor had sent 4 nominees, namely; Chief Titus Olasuoo, Lawal V. Jimoh, Dr. Saliu Ajibola Ajia and Hon. Aliyu Mande Umar, to the Kwara State House of Assembly for confirmation which the House did on June 9.
Reacting to this, a media aide to the governor, Fafoluyi Olayinka tweeted, “A former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Chief Titus Olasupo Ashaolu (SAN) is to serve as the Chairman.”
However, in what appeared to be a swift reaction to THE INFORMANT247 report, Fafoluyi deleted the tweet and at exactly 5:45pm reviewed the list in another tweet.
The new list has the Chief Judge as the Chairman with the Attorney General, the President of the Customary Court of Appeal, the Grand Khadi of Sharia Court of Appeal as members.
He added, “Olasupo Ashaolu (SAN) who is a legal practioner is one of nominees hence, isn’t the Chairman contrary to earlier tweet.”
