Kwara govt rejected our support on rehabilitation of road – Foundation

A Kwara-based Non-Government Organization, Tajudeen Olesin Foundation, on Tuesday, alleged that the Kwara State Government rejected its proposal to grade the road linking Kankatu-Amule-Shamsudeen in Ilorin East Local Government Area of the State.

The foundation’s spokesperson, Mansur Kolawole told THE INFORMANT247 correspondent that a letter was forwarded to the Kwara State Ministry of Works on August 5 seeking the government’s approval for the grading of the road link for the conveniency of the commuters.

However, according to him, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry invited the Foundation for a meeting on Monday where they were told that the road is a government property and it should be rehabilitated by the government not any private individual.

He added, “However, they instead told us to go to the rural area if we are serious about renovating any road. They even gave us the list of some, I think about 6 of them.”

Efforts to speak with the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, proved abortive.

Similarly, a text message sent to him has not been replied as of the time of this report.
