Kwara govt reiterates commitment to food security

The Kwara State Government reaffirmed its commitment to  food sufficiency and security in the state

The General Manager, Kwara State Social Investment Programme (KWASSIP), Dr Abdulwasiu Olayinka Tejidini, while disclosing this on Monday, when receiving the Executive Members of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), in his office, located at Fate Road, Ilorin, also promised farmers robust and sustainable support and empowerment to enhance their productivities.

Dr Tejidini also commended farmers for contributing significantly to the state’s economic development through agricultural activities, job opportunities for youths, and training the younger generation to make them better farmers.

Earlier in his remarks, the State Chairman of All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN), Hon Umar Mahmud Aboki, who commended the state government for various intervention programmes aimed at ameliorating poverty, appealed to the state government to empower its members and provide tools to aid their work.
