Kwara govt receives panel’s report on Ganmo chieftaincy tussle

The Kwara State Government, on Wednesday, received the report of the Judicial Panel of Inquiry on the Oluganmo/Oluganna chieftaincy crisis.

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had February 26, 2021, set up a Judicial Panel of Inquiry on Oluganmo and Oluganna Chieftaincy crisis.

Governor AbdulRazaq represented by his deputy, while receiving the panel’s report, explained the rationale behind the setting up of the panel.

Noting that it is to find a lasting solution to the crisis being experienced by the two neighboring communities, he observed that a society void of rancor and infighting will experience desired development.

He commended the panel for a prompt and detailed report.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the panel, Justice Adebayo Yusuf explained that the constitution of the Panel of Inquiry became expedient as part of the effort of the AbdulRazaq led government to proffer a lasting solution to the long-standing Chieftaincy tussle.

He added that the report submitted contains the findings and recommendations of the panel, which will serve as an integral part of the resolution of the crisis in the two communities.
