Kwara govt moves to end water scarcity

The Kwara State Government has reiterated its readiness to collaborate with Ground Water Development Association towards ending water scarcity in the State.

The Commissioner for Water Resources, Alhaji Agbaje White disclosed this during a meeting with members of the association at his office on Wednesday.

Alhaji Agbaje, who said he was happy for the visit, assured them of a good working relationship with the aim of putting an end to water scarcity within and outside Ilorin, the state capital.

The Commissioner informed them of an open door policy as regards information or other things of interest that would enhance the growth and development of the state.

Responding, the Chairman of the Ground Water Development Association (GDAK), Mr Ipoola Okunlola, sought government’s collaboration in solving water challenges being faced by the people throughout the State.

The Chairman, who was represented by Mr. Joseph Olawole, said the association will be looking forward to a strong working relationship with the government, in order to enforce the implementation of code of conduct on groundwater provision in the state.
