Atiku, Abdulsalami, Babangida meet behind closed doors in Minna

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 met with two former military leaders in Minna, Niger State.

The former vice president met with the former military President Ibrahim Babangida and former military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd) in the state.

The detailed information about the meeting was not revealed as at the time of producing this report.

The two elder statesmen took pictures with the presidential candidate, Atiku before they went behind closed doors.

The Informant247 gathered that the presidential candidate is currently in his home state, Adamawa State ahead of the governorship and House of Assembly elections scheduled to hold on Saturday March 11, 2023.

The Informant247 recalls that the presidential candidate met with the two former heads of state before the February 25 presidential election.

The Informant247 recalls that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Bola Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election.

According to INEC, Tinubu came victorious with 8.8 million votes.

The presidential candidate of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Atiku Abubakar came second with 6.9 million votes.

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, had 6.1 million votes.

Atiku and Obi who were not comfortable with the outcome of the February 25 presidential election have filed petitions at the election tribunal to challenge the emergence of Tinubu as the Nigerian leader.
