Kwara govt commends health partners over commitment to malaria intervention programme

The Kwara State Government has commended the commitment of health partners in the State towards the success of the Malaria Intervention Programme.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Raji Razaq made the commendation in his office while receiving in audience a delegation comprising members from the National Malaria Elimination Programme, Global Fund, Society for Family Health and the Association of Civil Society Organization on Malaria Control, Immunization and Nutrion (ACOMIN).

Razaq disclosed that the implementing partners have been wooed by the state government’s huge investment through provision of fund, and dedicated human resources towards eliminating malaria in the State.

He said, “Your roles as partners from the National, Global Fund and other collaborating NGOs are key to our administration’s success towards eliminating malaria in Kwara State.”

The commissioner told the health partners the various actions taken by the State Government to ensure that health-care delivery services are brought to the doorstep of all citizens irrespective of wherever they reside, most especially malaria, which has become endemic in the country.

While speaking earlier at the meeting, the National Coordinator of National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP), from the Federal Ministry of Health, Dr. Eze Nelson had appreciated the contributions of the Kwara State Government at the just concluded Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention Programme and its plans towards achieving greater outcomes in the subsequent years.

He appealed to Gov. AbdulRazaq not to rest on his oars in delivering quality health care services to the good people of Kwara State.

Nelson assured the Commissioner that the health partners will not relent in supporting the Kwara State Government in their future malaria elimination programme activities.
