Kwara govt awards Shonga ultra-modern ICT project to contractor
In its efforts to improve social and economic infrastructure towards technological advancement, the Kwara State Government, through the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Technology, has officially handed over the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) project site at Shonga in Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State to the Contractor, Skylat-One Nigeria Ltd, Adegboyega Akinwumi Sunday.
According to the state Commissioner for Business, Innovation and Technology, Hon. Damilola Yusuf Adelodun, the project, which was a testament to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq’s determination to drive economic growth and development in the state, is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy as well as create job opportunities for the people of Shonga and the surrounding communities.

She said, while reiterating its dedication to enhancing the ease of doing business in Kwara State, the government also cited the ICT project as a prime example of this commitment and charged the Contractor to deliver quality jobs so that the State Government would have value for the fund spent on the project, adding that the Ultra-Modern ICT project at Shonga is one of several initiatives undertaken by the State Government to promote economic development and improve the lives of its citizens.
On her part, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mrs Mary Kemi Adeoshun, commended the efforts of the State Government towards the commencement of the project and emphasised its potential to stimulate economic growth and development in the region while urging the Contractor to use the resources effectively, efficiently and deliver the project at the agreed period.
Earlier in his remarks, the Emir of Shonga, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr Haliru Ndanusa Yahaya, thanked the Governor for meeting the yearning of the people in their communities, saying the project will support the educational system, enhance economic growth and social development for the people.
Also, the contractor, Skylat-One Nigeria Ltd, Adegboyega Akinwumi, thanked the State Government for awarding the project to the company while promising to deliver a quality job.
