Kwara govt announces closure of Post Office-Emir’s road for upgrade

…advises motorists to ply alternative roads

The Kwara State Government has announced a partial closure of Post Office-Emir’s Road effective from Tuesday 15th October 2024, for the rehabilitation and upgrading of the road.

According to a statement by Engineer Abdulquawiy Olododo, the state Commissioner for Works and Transport, through Olajide Abolarin, the Press Secretary, Ministry of Works and Transport, the effort is aimed at improving road networks and boosting economic growth across the State.

The statement urged road users to use alternative routes during the period of rehabilitation while assuring the public that the closure has been carefully planned to prioritize the safety of residents and ensure smoother travel conditions in the long run.

Motorists coming from Maraba are advised to use the Post Office Flyover, while those from Offa Garage should take Zulu Gambari Road. Similarly, road users approaching from Taiwo Road are encouraged to use Wahab Folawiyo Unity Road to reach their destinations.

Motorists are advised to adhere to traffic directives and exercise caution while navigating the area

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and seek the cooperation of the general public during this period,” the statement added.
