KWARA GOVERNORSHIP SEAT:A CLARION CALL TO KWARA NORTH POLITICAL STALWARTS
It is saddened that a region that is endowed with economic development potentials is far back left behind due to egocentric and lackadaisical attitude of few individuals from the region.
It is a known fact that kwara north geopolitical zone has the highest number of people living with poverty despite the fact that the region has a very good arable land for mechanized farming, political strategists that can build a strong political empire,an industrialists that are doing well in the world. The faith of Kwara north as a geopolitical zone of a state has since been jeopardize,majority of people living in localities of the region have since lost hope as if they did not belong to the state,the dividend of democracy has since became a misplaced priority by the power that be,our people are now dying of hunger and diseases due to non challant attitude of the political stalwart of the region,most of our roads are death traps.I will not dwell much into the way our state and federal legislatures are performing or have performed but it is obvious that other legislators from other two geopolitical zones have performed excellently for their constituents.what is now wrong with our own legislators?i see the recent empowerment by some of this legislators as a means of cajoling the gullible electorates,though some revelations said most of the big politicians that rally round our own people in the lower and upper chamber of the national Assembly are the lions swallowing anything coming from them as pay back or attestation of their loyalty thinking 2019 will be business as usual.
Our Dear Babbas,i want to believe you are all aware that we are moving into another political dispensation having pass through an uncomfortable moments of sixteen years.it is normal and traditionally accepted in Nigerian politics for one to belong to a political camp or to hide under a particular political God father by projecting a particular interest,no one should be accused of being affiliated to either of the above mentioned class but the anticipated time has come when all political stalwart,traditional rulers and people of Kwara north needs to harmonise their intrests for the liberation of Kwara north geopolitical zone.
It is no more a news that the current Senate President of Nigeria Distinguished Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki who hails from Kwara central has became the governor of the state from 2003 to 2011,presently Dr.Abdul Fatah Ahmad who hails from Kwara south is enjoying an uninterrupted second and the last tenure in office who will by God’s grace complete his administration by 2019.if Kwara northerners are truly from this state,if truly we uphold the concept of fairness,justice and equity I think both Kwara Central and Kwara south need to consider and support Kwara north to host the governorship seat this time around.
This is not the time for you to be fighting your selves or settling scores, if the youths from the region can be united for this very interest with the support of progressive minded ones in both Kwara central and Kwara south I don’t see any reason or excuse that can disallow you the elders from burying your egos and differences irrespective of your political affiliation, local governments,towns, parties,religion,tribe and economic status.
We understand the nature of our people been very religiously loyal and supportive to our traditional rulers when in need,i believe this is the very moment when all our traditional rulers in Kwara north are also expected to come together for this common interest of our people so that they can continue enjoying an unflinching loyalty from their teaming followers in their respective territories.We believe we have more than enough competent hands that can lead the State of harmony to the promise land having put into consideration the mistakes of the past and when the time to choose a candidate comes we believe you will all unanimously put forward a candidate with very good antecedent,good sense of responsibility as well as intellectual capacity that will move the state to a greater height.
