Kwara Governor applauds AbdulBaqi, Onilu on NIPR Council Membership

Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has extended warm congratulations to Dr. Saudat Salah AbdulBaqi and Alhaji Lanre Issa Onilu on their emergence as members of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

Dr. AbdulBaqi earned her position through election at the NIPR Convention, which concluded in the early hours of Friday.

On the other hand, Onilu secured his place as one of the five Federal Government appointees on the Council.

In an official statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye, it was revealed that Governor AbdulRazaq had previously urged convention delegates to cast their votes overwhelmingly in support of Dr. AbdulBaqi.

He stated that Dr. AbdulBaqi is a communications expert, former chairman of the state chapter of NIPR, and former head of the mass communication department at the University of Ilorin.

The statement from the Government House highlighted the Governor’s enthusiasm for this significant achievement and acknowledged the nationwide delegates’ endorsement of a distinguished Kwara State representative.

The Governor also applauded the Federal Government for choosing Onilu, a prominent figure from the state, as one of its representatives on the prestigious council.

The Government House statement emphasized that Governor AbdulRazaq is confident in the abilities of both appointees to uphold the honor of the state as NIPR Governing Council members.

He encouraged them to bring their expertise and extensive experience as leading public relations professionals and devoted patriots to elevate the stature of the statutory body (NIPR).

The Governor extended his best wishes to them in their new roles and any forthcoming responsibilities that may come their way in the future.
