AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the Kwara State Governor, has expressed delight over the emergence of Senator, representing Kwara South in the House of Assembly as the new Deputy Leader to replace David Umahi, the minister of work.
The Informant247 reports that Senate President Godswill Akpabio, during the plenary session on Wednesday, October 18, announced Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru as the new Deputy Leader of the Nigerian Senate
The governor, in a statement on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Rafiu Ajakaye, said Senator Ashiru’s emergence as the Deputy Senate Leader was a deserving one, as it underscores the confidence the Senate leadership reposes in the lawmaker as well as the contributions of Kwara APC to the victory of the party at the last election.
The statement reads, “On behalf of the people and government of Kwara State, I send our heartfelt congratulations to Senator Lola Ashiru and the state chapter of the APC. We are indeed proud of this achievement as we believe it is a continuation of the rewards and positive developments that will come to the state and to party stalwarts who worked for the party’s success.
“I thank the Senate leadership for the honour done to one of our own while looking forward to more of such,” the statement said.
The Governor wishes Senator Ashiru a successful outing as the new Deputy Senate Leader, praying he and all others continue to work for the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr. President.”
