Kwara Gov. AbdulRazaq approves N184m refund for 2,300 pilgrims

The Kwara state governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved a N184 million refund for 2,300 pilgrims who performed the holy pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia this year.

The Informant247 gathered that the money is meant for excessive payments made by the 2,300 pilgrims who paid N3 million as Hajj fare.

The Kwara State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Board Ilorin has already commenced the refund to the pilgrims.

The beneficiaries who cut across the 16 local government areas in the state also include Kwarans and non-Kwarans.

In a statement by Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, the Executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, thanked the state government for the timely release of the money while advising all the concerned pilgrims to come with original receipts for the collection of their N80,000 refund.

The Executive Secretary further disclosed that the refund payment, which commenced on Monday, September 11, would continue until all the affected pilgrims were fully refunded.
