Kwara flags off construction of multi-million naira courthouse
The Kwara State Government has officially flagged off the construction of a multi-million naira Kwara State Court House in Ilorin, the State Capital.
The Court House will be a six-storey building equipped with eight courtrooms, offices, a conference hall and a library, among other modern facilities, to ease the operation of the judiciary in Kwara State.
While handing over the project to the Consultant on Friday at the site, located along Ahmadu Bello Way, the state commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Dr Segun Ogunsola, said the Court House Complex is in line with the vision of the State Government to enhance judicial services.
Dr Ogunsola disclosed that the Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, conceived the project, the first of its kind in Africa, to reinforce his determination to revamp every sector of the state.
He, however, urged the contractor to deliver a good job while ensuring that the project complies with the best standard obtainable to justify the trust reposed in the company.
On his part, the General Manager of Kwara State Procurement Agency, Alhaji Abdulbaki Abdulraheem, congratulated Kwarans on yet another outstanding project of the present administration, saying the government will not relent in its effort to transform the state positively.
Speaking on behalf of the Contractor, Craneburg International, the Consultant, Baron Architecture, Babatunde Sofola, pledged to do a thorough job and deliver the project according to the terms of the contract agreement.
