Kwara Falcons grab first win in Abidjan invitational basketball tournament
Nigeria’s Kwara Falcons have secured their first win at the ongoing invitational tournament currently going on in Abidjan.
It was a big relief for the Kwara State-owned team who had earlier suffered defeats in their first two games.
Falcons, who are Nigeria’s basketball league champions lost their opening game to Stade De Malien, 69-84 and were also defeated in the second game by ABC Fighters 52-76.
They bounced back and recorded their first win in the tournament with a 52-49 win over Kadji Sports Academy on Thursday.
The tournament was organised to gear up the invited teams that will participate in the forthcoming 2023 African Basketball League.
Coach Baba Jubril and his boys hope to use the tournament as a learning curve ahead of the third edition of Basketball Africa League (BAL) Season 3 which will kick off by March 11and end on March 21.
