Kwara commissions hand-pump borehole for Ilorin East community
The Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Arc. Aliyu Muhammad Saifuddeen, on Monday, commissioned hand-pump borehole project provided for the people of Ba’ale Dada Community in Ilorin East Local Government Area of the state.
The commissioner, during the ceremony, said the present administration has deemed it necessary to change the narrative by making the grassroot the starting point for developmental activities in the state.
Saifuddeen explained that was why the governor was moving round the grassroots to interact with the people so as to get first hand information on their needs.
For his part, the Ilorin East Director of Personnel Management of the Council (DPM), Mr Oyebanji Gabriel described the occasion as a turning point in changing the trend of combing the rivers in search of potable water by the inhabitants of the Community.
According to him, the borehole project was to complement the giant efforts of the Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq in the quest to make potable water accessible to the people of the state.
He therefore appealed to the people to make effective and efficient use of these boreholes and protect them to serve the Communities better and longer.
