The Kwara State House of Assembly has assented to the $2 million grant request by Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
The Assembly approved the request during its plenary on Monday.
A statement released by the Assembly reads, “The Executive Governor of Kwara State, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, seeks to access a World Bank Grant linked to certain indicators of the State Fiscal Transparency and Sustainability Programme, therefore solicited the approval of the Honourable House passing a Resolution in favour of the request.
“The request was considered at committee of Whole which was eventually granted.”
The SFTAS programme is part of efforts of the Federal Government to further enhance the transparency and accountability in the use of public resources through the implementation of the Open Government Partnership which Nigeria signed to in July 2016.
