The chairperson, Kwara State civil service commission has accused some local government workers of lackadaisical attitude towards their work.
Speaking during the training of 104 health workers in Ilorin, the state capital, Adebayo warned that such attitude will no more be tolerated from them any longer.
The training workshop according to her was on the role of health care workers in promoting a sustainable health care delivery service at the grassroot level.
“We organise this training in fulfillment of our promise of training and re-training of our local government workers so as to change their attitude of non-challant attitude towards work and the people they are attending to.”
“Last month we held a workshop to sharpen the capacity of our revenue officers, accountants and agric officers in an effort to promote capacity in revenue generation at the grassroots in order to achieve sustainable source of funding to give autonomy to our local government areas.
“We are focusing our attention to the health services provider because health is wealth. Also, the greater population at the grassroots are those that are engaged in economic activities. It is therefore our concern o give enabling environment to them so as to be active in socio economic activities.”
“The training is an attempt to resharpen the knowledge of our health personnel for them to be updated with modern techniques of handlinggg health services. The reason for our focus no health delivery is simply because we want a positive change in our ways of doing things and say no to non-challant attitude,” Adebayo said.
She however urged them to be of good behaviour to patients and also pay attention to every aspect of the training because it will be of great help to them in the course of their work
