Kwara Central: Mashood Mustapha, Illiasu Moro supports power shift from Ilorin West
All Progressive Congress chieftains, Moshood Mustapha and Hon. Ilyas Moro have supported the agitation by the Ilorin West Stakeholders that Kwara Central Senatorial seat be shifted from Ilorin West to other district in the senatorial district.
The chieftains made the endorsement in separate visit by the group to their respective residence on Monday.
The stakeholders led by Mr. Nigeria had been advocating for the shift of power from the Ilorin west to Ilorin East or Ilorin South Local Government Area of the Kwara Central Senatorial district.
Expressing his support for the movement, Mustapha said, “I am in to it already. It is not today that we wanted this but a very long time.”
He also commended the group’s convener adding that it is not always easy to champion an issue like that.
“I must commend the team most especially the convener who has champion the movement upon himself. It is not always easy to do such a thing even though you are from the Ilorin West.”
For Moro, he commended the team and pledge full support to the movement, making reference to a similar issue in Kwara North Senatorial district.
“I commend the team. It’s a very good movement and I am fully in support of the agitation. It’s the same thing that is happening where I come, Moro.
“We are tired we want back our right,” he added.
The Convener of the group, speaking earlier, thanked the two chieftain for their support and vowed to continue the advocacy until their voice is heard.
