All Progressive Congress Kwara youth stakeholders on Sunday held a prayer session to seek God’s intervention in the ongoing party crisis and to pledge their loyalty for the former chairman of the state, Bashir Bolarinwa Omolaja.
Recall that the former chairman was suspended on Wednesday by the National Secretariat of the All Progressive Congress in Abuja.
The prayer session which was separately led by Muslim and Christian believers from among the youth stakeholders at the state secretariat in Ilorin, Kwara state capital.
Speaking on the precarious state of the party, the youth also held an interview session with the journalists shortly after the prayer session, saying Kwara has a weakened foundation and God alone could return it’s old glory and grant her new ones.
For the part of the Christian, Mr. Benjamin Adekunke who spoke on behalf of the youth said the ruckus in the party is not encouraging and does not reflect the image of the hard earned liberation.
While sueing for peace to reign among party members both at the national and state levels, he prayed all the Sambalet and Toblas in the party be put to shame.
He also prayed God to touch the hearts of the leadership at the national level so that Bolarinwa could retain his seat back as chairman.
Ahmed Akorede who spoke for the Muslim youth recalled that the ongoing party controversy could be dated as far back as two months after the inauguration of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq when some evil individuals continue to instigate the people to sow the seed of disparity among party members.
He recalled futher how the present administration was enthroned and the 40years Sarakis’ dynasty was ousted out but still could not gain outright liberation notwithstanding.
“We believe Almighty God Knows the hidden, we are using this prayer to confide our affairs unto Him to intervene on the Crisis. We beseech Almighty God to shame all evil doer’s behind this Crisis.”
