Kwara 2023: APC senatorial aspirant, Kamardeen Kadiri defects to PDP, declares support for Yaman
Hon Kamardeen Olayinka Kadiri, a former senatorial aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), has thrown his support behind the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi in preparation of the 2023 general elections.
Hon Kamardeen Olayinka Kadiri made this revelation on Thursday while meeting with members of the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP).
The meeting took place at D’Oscar Hotel Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.
Kadiri revealed that Yaman has got required leadership experience, qualities, capacity and knowledge to move the State to the promising land, if elected.
The Oro born politician on Thursday used the avenue of his meeting with the Association of Kwara Online Media Practitioners (ASKOMP) officially declared his defection to the main opposition platform in the state, PDP.
He revealed that he has defected from the party due to the continued low performance of ruling APC in the State.
“APC as a party is in shambles in our dear State. The APC led government has also deviated totally from all they promised Kwarans before 2019 elections. As a true son of Kwara South, I cannot keep quiet and allow mediocrity to continue to fester”.
He also disclosed that he has defected to the PDP with his loyal supporters and admirers: “I am now in PDP. I am enlightened now as I have the opportunity to listen and work closely with the both former Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Alhaji Shuaib Yaman Abdullahi, the PDP gubernatorial candidate”.
Kadiri while answering questions on his defection said he has left the ruling APC because the Governor of the state, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has failed in managing both party and governance in the state.
He added that he will be collaborating with the Deputy Governorship Candidate of the party, Hon Gbenga Makanjuola to win the seven local government areas in Kwara South Senatorial district for Yaman and other candidates of the PDP.
He also revealed that Sienna buses designed for Governorship Candidate of the PDP.
He made a promise to make provision for enough and sufficient campaign materials like billboards, posters, T-shirt among others.
