KW-PPA commends IVTEC on improved procurement practices
The Kwara State Public Procurement Agency (KW-PPA) has commended the International Vocational, Technical and Entrepreneurship Centre (IVTEC), Ajasse-Ipo, for improvements recorded in its procurement processes and record keeping.
The agency gave the commendation during its 2025 Procurement Processes Review Exercise at the centre, where the General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of KW-PPA, QS. Raheem Abdulbaki, presented the outcome of the review.
Abdulbaki said the review showed noticeable improvements in the centre’s procurement procedures, particularly in the maintenance and documentation of procurement records.
He described the development as a positive step towards strengthening transparency, accountability, efficiency and compliance with public procurement requirements.
According to him, proper documentation and record keeping are essential to public procurement as they provide an audit trail and demonstrate that due process has been followed.
He urged the management of IVTEC to sustain the progress and address areas identified for improvement, while calling for regular training and capacity building for procurement and administrative officers.
Abdulbaki also encouraged the centre to view procurement as a strategic tool for achieving its institutional objectives, noting that effective procurement planning and contract management could help ensure value for money and timely delivery of goods, works and services.
He assured the centre of the agency’s continued professional guidance, oversight and capacity-building support to improve procurement performance across government institutions.
The KW-PPA boss reiterated the agency’s commitment to promoting a transparent, accountable and professional procurement system that ensures value for money in the use of public resources.
In her remarks, the Acting Registrar of IVTEC, Mrs Eniola Orire, commended the KW-PPA for its efforts to ensure that procurement processes across the state comply with established rules and procedures.
She also appreciated the state government for its commitment to strengthening due process, transparency and accountability in public procurement.
