The Nasarawa police Command has said that
Mr Shammah Yakubu, a lecturer, with Isa Mustapha Agwai Polytechnic, Lafia, Nasarawa State, who was kidnapped has regained his freedom, on Friday.
The lecturer was abducted by gunmen on Tuesday at about 8 p.m. while moving home from work.
It was gathered that the kidnapped is the institution’s director of Consultancy Unit.
Rahman Nansel, the spokesperson of the State, who confirmed the news, explaining that Yakubu was set free around 6 p.m. on Thursday.
The kidnapped victim was set free from captivity with no ransom paid.
The spokesperson of the police in the state further explained, “Yes he was released on Thursday around 6 p.m. I know no ransom was paid.”
A source also revealed that the lecturer was hospitalized immediately after his freedom. He is currently receiving medical care in the hospital.
