Famous Nigerian singer Harrison Tare Okiri, fondly known as Harrysong, has accused his former boss, Kcee of Five Star Music Record Label, of collecting the royalties of his big songs for over seven years while calling on well-meaning Nigerians to appeal to his ex-boss and colleague in the music industry to pay him his royalties and release his songs in his possession.
Harrysong, while taking to the stories of his verified Instagram account, mentioned some of his big records that Kcee receives royalties to include Reggae And Blues, Baba For The Girls, Samankwe, Better Pikin, Ofeshe.
He said, “I’m here to beg you all to help me and follow me beg Kingsley Okonkwo, known as Kcee, to refund and release my songs. For more than 7 years now, he’s been the one collecting 100 per cent of my royalties from Reggae And Blues, Baba For The Girls, Samankwe, Better Pikin, and Ofeshe (all my big songs). He collects one hundred per cent of all my royalties, and it’s not fair.
“At least he can take his percentage and give me wat is rightfully mine. I started by begging, na beg I dey beg am. I know he likes to bully; he’s the Power Mike. Help me beg him. The songs are mine; he should at least be fair to give me wat is rightfully mine.
“May God not let us work and another man just be reaping our hard-earned sweat in Jesus name.”(sic)
