Henshaw was employed in the Bauchi State General Hospital in Bauchi, Nigeria. Kate Henshaw worked as a model before becoming an actress, appearing in a number of advertisements, including a print and television advertisement for Shield deodorant.

She debuted her career in the Entertainment industry in 1993 when she auditioned for the lead role in When the Sun Sets. Her skills earned her the part, which was her debut in a major Nollywood film.
