History of MFM Football Club
The club was founded on 1 June 2007. After eight years (2013), MFM FC took control over the opening of Bolowatan F.C. in the Nigeria National League (NNL), the second-level division in Nigerian football. The pioneer behind Bolowotan FC, Toyin Gafaar, a Muslim, gave the space to the congregation (MFM) to oversee without gathering any cash consequently. Two years later, precisely on 31 August 2015, after Toyin Gafaar gave the NNL slot to MFM, the church team gained promotion to the Nigeria Premier League under the tutelage of Fidelis Ilechukwu.
MFM FC made their memorable Nigeria Professional Football League debut as they beat the Solid Miners of Nasarawa United by 2-1 on speculative home soil at the Aper Aku Stadium in Markudi, Benue State of Nigeria. Previous Sunshine Stars of Akure player, Musa Newman got the very first goal of the club in their most memorable NPFL game in the 18th moment and Chukwuka Emmanuel’s second gave the debutants a two-objective lead before Ifeanyi Nweke of Nasarawa United scores one back
Fidelis Ilechukwu directed the club to their first CAF contest after his wards completed the 2016/2017 season, guaranteeing the second position on the log with two points behind Plateau United, the league’s winner.
The club’s excursion on the landmass was brimming with remarkable recollections. Without precedent for 15 years, MFM FC carried continental games to Lagos and played against Africa’s best club before their fans at the Agege Stadium.
