Just In: FG renames UniAbuja after Yakubu Gowon
The federal government has approved the renaming of the University of Abuja after the former head of state Yakubu Gowon
Mohammed Idris, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, made this known to journalists at the State House on Monday following a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu.

The renaming is in honour of Nigeria’s former Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, who recently celebrated his 90th birthday.
Idris said the proposal would be forwarded to the National Assembly for formal approval.
