The Rivers State political crisis on Monday took a new twist as 27 out of 32 members of the State Assembly defected from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The Informant247 gathered that the lawmakers announced their defection in a group photograph where they are seen holding the APC flag, citing division within the PDP as the primary reason for their defection.
The development has heightened the crisis between the state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, and lawmakers loyal to former Governor Nyesom Wike.
