Station manager, Godwin Okpe, head of security, Ikhayere and the ticket clerk are among the thirty-two persons abducted by the gunmen in the train attack which occurred on Sunday.
The victims were abducted at Ekehen-Igueben train station in Igueben Local Government Area of Edo State.
However, one of the victims was said to have escaped from the hands of the abductors, who were armed with AK-47 rifles and were shooting into the air, while a suspect was later arrested by policemen.
Some of the abductors came in vehicles, while others got to the train station through bush paths.
Edo Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Chidi Nwabuzor, a Superintendent of Police (SP), said the abducted passengers were to travel to Warri in Delta State by train, while many persons at the station sustained bullet wounds.
Rescue operations are ongoing.
