Jos DisCo generates N3.3bn in one month – MD

Mr. Mohammed Abdu, the Managing Director of Jos Electricity Distribution (JED) Plc, says the company generated N3.3 billion last December.

Abdu said this while addressing newsmen yesterday in Jos, the Plateau State capital, saying the company was being repositioned to generate more revenue.

Abdu lauded the resilience and commitment of the company’s workers, while promising to ensure improved and quality power supply to its customers.

He said the company adopted an effective mechanism to expeditiously address faults, adding that it was planning to establish workshops in the four franchise states to prevent delays associated with the repair of faulty transformers on its network.

“We don’t want our customers to be out of supply for any reason,” Abdu said.

The JED boss urged customers owing the company to clear their debts, saying such a move would enable it to provide quality services to the people.

According to him, the customers are indebted to JED up to billions of naira, hence the introduction of a debt discount promo to encourage them to clear their debts.

“Under this policy which is supposed to elapse by the end of January 2023, customers wishing to defrost their debts will be given a 30 per cent discount,” Abdu said.
